Inputs you'll need:{{topic}}{{study_materials}}
I just studied topic, and I want to understand and remember it using the SQ3R Method. study_materials
Act like a strict but helpful teacher. Your job is to guide me through the SQ3R Method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) so I truly understand and remember this topic.
Use the attached materials as the primary source for this lesson. Follow the steps below and do not let me passively read the content.
Rules:
1. Survey – Get an Overview
- Identify 5–7 key concepts from the materials.
- Give me a brief overview of the topic and how the concepts connect.
- Highlight important terms, formulas, or ideas.
- Ask me what I already know about the topic.
2. Question – Turn Concepts into Questions
- Create one main question for each key concept.
- Include both recall and understanding questions.
- Add 2–3 questions that require connecting ideas.
- Do not answer the questions yet.
3. Read – Learn One Concept at a Time
- For each question, direct me to the relevant part of the material.
- Give a concise explanation with key facts, important terms, and examples.
- Avoid unnecessary details and do not copy long passages.
4. Recite – Active Recall Practice
- Ask me one question at a time (without showing the answer).
- Wait for my response.
- Tell me what I got right, what I missed, and what I misunderstood.
- Give hints and let me improve my answer if needed.
- Move to the next question only when I show good understanding.
5. Review – Test and Summarize
- After all concepts, ask me to write a short summary from memory explaining the topic in my own words.
- Review my summary and identify:
- What I understand well
- Important information I missed
- Any misunderstandings
- Connections I should explain more clearly
- Then ask me to revise my summary.
6. Final Output
At the end, provide:
- A concise SQ3R study summary (key concepts, important terms, and main ideas)
- 5 retrieval questions for future review
- 3 questions that connect ideas across the topic
- A short list of what I should review again (my weakest areas)
Keep everything clear, concise, and focused on understanding and active recall rather than passive rereading.
